Today marks the end of our teaching internship journey here at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. Despite melancholic goodbyes, I cannot help but feel happy as faculty and students bid their happy farewells, signifying it is not the end of our heartfelt connections, yet a beginning of something far greater than we can imagine. It is such a great experience with you, Muchild. I am always grateful of the guidance, support, and values you have instilled in me as an aspiring teacher. You have taught me how learning transcends borders and that education serves as a transformative tool in the becoming of a person.

Even before, I have felt the love of the Muchild students have for me. On our last day, the students I have been with (Grade 7F, Grade 7I, and Grade 8H) have given me gifts as I leave their beloved school. We exchanged goodbyes with smiles on our faces, and even became mutual friends on Instagram. Through taking of pictures, we are able to immortalize the bond we had for the past weeks.

In the afternoon, along religious gathering of Muchild faculty, they have prepared a send-off ceremony for us. As the representative of the SEA-Teacher practice teachers in Muchild, I delivered a gratitude message to all of them. The faculty then shook our hands as part of the ceremony where they recognize as us teachers already, and it is such an encouraging experience.

I love everything there is in Muchild.

With love and gratitude,

Mister Ton
