Today, we embarked on an exciting excursion organized by the International Office of UAD. Early in the morning, we prepared for the trip, eager for the experiences ahead.

Our first stop was a Batik painting workshop, where we immersed ourselves in this traditional Indonesian art form. Batik involves applying wax to fabric through drawing or stamping, creating intricate designs. Once the wax dried, we carefully colored our patterns before removing the wax, revealing beautifully patterned negative spaces on the dyed cloth. It was a hands-on learning experience that deepened our appreciation for Indonesia’s rich craftsmanship.

Afterward, we boarded the bus and headed to our next destination—the magnificent Prambanan Temple. It was awe-inspiring to witness how Indonesia has preserved its cultural heritage amidst the march of modernity. Visiting this architectural wonder was a dream come true, checking off a long-held item on my bucket list. Exploring the temple’s interiors and marveling at its grandeur is a memory I will cherish forever.
