On February 9, we had the opportunity to participate in Universitas Ahmad Dahlan’s (UAD) Family Gathering. I started the day with an early morning walk to the university, followed by an energizing Zumba session. During the event, we met Dr. Rohmatus Naini’s husband and shared a seat on the mat, enjoying casual conversations and the warm sense of community. To keep my energy up, I had some bread before exploring the various booths set up near the event area. We even won some merchandise, adding to the fun and excitement of the day.
In the evening, we had a welcome dinner with UAD’s Dean, Dr. Muhammad Sayuti, to officially greet the new exchange practice teachers from the University of St. Anthony. The restaurant served a dish that closely resembled the Philippines’ chicken adobo, instantly bringing back memories of home.

The familiar taste filled me with nostalgia and reminded me of the comforts of my hometown and the flavors that shaped my upbringing.
With love and gratitude,
Mister Ton
